LEVEL 7 ASSESSOR
David holds a Level 7 Masters qualification in Competence in Educational Testing and Access Arrangements. This means that he is a member of the British Psychological Society and holds membership of the BPS Register of Qualifications in Test Use. As such, he is well-qualified to independently assess pupils to see if they should receive additional time or other access arrangements such as reading support or a scribe.
David will spend time talking to the pupil, parents and, if necessary, the school to build an understanding of where any issues lie. He will then run specialised tests and assessments in speed of handwriting, oral reading accuracy and reading speed, auditory short-term memory and visual processing memory. From these tests, David will be able to produce a concise, clear and professional report to confirm whether access arrangements should be awarded in line with guidance published by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).

What exactly are access arrangements?
Do they struggle to finish exams?
Can they read quickly enough?
Have you ever had an assessment to see if your child should receive 25% extra time or any of the other access arrangements?
